The famous temple of Sri Sai Baba at Shiridi in Maharashtra will be resuming darshan shortly after closing the shrine for over six months due to COVID pandemic and invited think-tank from TTD on the guidelines and mechanism to be followed while providing darshan to pilgrims.

Upon the invitation from Shiridi Board, the TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy garu, Board Member Sri K.Siva Kumar garu, EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal garu and Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy garu reached Shiridi on Sunday evening. On their arrival, they were received by the Shiridi Board Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Sri Kanhuraj Harischandra Bhagate and others.

A meeting was held on Sunday evening where the modalities of darshan to be followed in view of Covid pandemic were discussed. As TTD has been successfully implementing darshan for pilgrims since June 11 following all COVID norms, the Shiridi board has sought TTD to provide them guidance as they are contemplating to resume darshan soon.

The TTD Chairman and EO informed them about the various precautions taken up by TTD while resuming darshan. They said, both the TTD staff and the pilgrims have been strictly observing COVID norms by wearing masks, using santisers and maintaining two meter social distance between persons apart from mandatory screening at Alipiri, before entering Tirumala, sanitizing the rooms, queue lines at regular intervals etc.

“Over six lakh pilgrims had darshan till date starting from June 11 and not even a single positive case registered among visiting pilgrims so far because of strictly implementing the COVID norms in Tirumala temple”, TTD Chairman asserted.

The Shiridi board authorities thanked TTD for providing valuable suggestions on the precautions to be taken while resuming darshan in COVID pandemic conditions. Deputy CEO Sri Ravindra Thakre, Executive Engineer Sri Raghunath were also present.
